About Arkansas Veterans Village
Our Mission
At Arkansas Veterans Village, our mission is to provide shelter and support to homeless veterans in our community. While waiting for permanent housing, AVV supplies shelter in the form of hotel stays for qualifying veterans.
Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is made up of members of our community who have an interest in helping homeless veterans establish permanent housing. We are a completely volunteer organization with no expenses going to office space rental or salaries. All of our fundraising efforts go directly to our mission of supplying hotel stays for veterans who are waiting for VASH (Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing) to become available.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Our major volunteer opportunity is our annual golf tournament on September 16th at Paradise Valley in Fayetteville. We need many volunteers to make this tournament a success. Other volunteer opportunities will be available throughout the year. A new venture last year was our booth at Bikes, Blues, and BBQ where we handed out information about AVV and offered cold drinks and sold tickets for two drawings. BBB is Sept. 18-21, 2024.
